I found an interesting video of the Spirit Tuned MR-S going up against Tsuchiya's Hachiroku. It's amazing watching Tsuchiya and Orido fly through the touge in these 2 cars. Both vehicles are using street tires, and produce under 200 horsepower. The MR-S is a 1.8 liter vs the AE86's 1.6 liter. The Amuse S2000 in the background is being used as a camera car. This is a great battle, and a must watch!
By no means is this a 'new' video. An old, but classic video is what I'd say. Enjoy.

I remember reading the for-sale thread about this silver bullet Nissan 240sx over a year ago. I loved the way the gray paint contrasted the gold Volk TE37 wheels, and I originally saved some pictures of the 240 because I loved it so much.
Over the course of a year, I switched computers a few times and eventually lost the photos along the way. While reading my favorite blogs, one of them brought this car back from the dead. The parts list for this tuning masterpiece is way to large to list, so I recommend you view it here.

In case you missed it, check out what Ken Block managed to do to his Subaru Impreza at X Games 14. All he managed to do was damage his radiator. Excellent photo, wouldn't you agree?

So I missed AE86 day (August 6; 8-6-2008) so in honor of the Toyota Corolla, here is a small collection of some fantastic looking Hachiroku's: (Be sure to click the thumbnails to get larger versions)
Don't you just love the simplicity, the shape, sound, just everything about the AE86? I sure do, and I hope you enjoyed this gallery. When I talk about cars with friends and we bring up our favorites, I always mention the AE86. It's hard to explain why it appeals to me so much (no, not because of Initial D), but it's just dug a spot in my heart.
I must admit this post was kind of thrown together, and doesn't represent the best of AE86s. However this gallery does feature grass roots style Corollas driven on a daily basis. The same can't be said for that lean, mean Tec-Arts D1 Drifter.

Who would have imagined that Scion sales are down? I'm really not surprised, I've never liked the Scion. From the boxy xB to the boring tC, the Scion has been nothing but a huge bucket of fail. Word on the streets says the reason sales are down is because of the fact that the size has increased for the vehicles, making them more attractive to older buyers.
Wasn't the point of Scion to attract younger, newer customers to Toyota? It worked in the beginning, and I have no clue why, but it seems as if buyers have come to there senses and realized how fugly these cars are. Looking at the numbers, sales of the Scion brand have dropped by 50%. Now I love Toyota, and I think they're a great brand. Hopefully they can come back from this drop, but I believe they need to change the direction of Scion, because it's obviously not working for them right now.
What would I suggest you ask? Stronger motors, rear wheel drive, and ditch the ugly design of there vehicles. Sure, they're great cars, however I think they missed there target audience. They wanted to attract younger people, and the younger demographic is looking for sporty vehicles. Scion just doesn't scream 'fun!' when I look at them.
What's your opinion?
